About Laura

Laura Wills Mooney has been acting on stage throughout her life. After her retirement from clinical social work, she studied Improvisation at BATS in S.F and voiceover at Voice One.

As an actress, I’ve benefited greatly by realizing the importance of listening at a very early age. My mother lost her hearing two years before I was born and didn’t regain it for ten years. During that time I served as her “listener”, interpreter to the outside world, and explainer. I learned to put my whole self into hearing accurately not only for language but the emotional reality of the words. This immersion into being the listener has been my hidden foundation when I worked as a therapist and is invaluable as a narrator.
